Daily Bread
Scripture: 2 Samuel 2:5 Is not my house like this with God?
For he has made with me an everlasting covenant,
ordered in all things and secure.
Will he not cause to prosper
all my help and my desire?
Observation: The scripture comes out of humility before God. The author equates good leadership with fear of God. It is an important to understand that leadership is a covenant to God that blesses the world. The Godless have no such covenant and are difficult if not impossible to deal with, and they bring no blessing to the world. This is a harsh idea.
Application: We are to understand that we should be humble before the lord to lead.
Prayer: Dear Lord, open my eyes to my lack of humility before you, teach me to love your people as much as I love you. Amen.
